Our client in Dunfermline discussed the possibility of purchasing a new Stress Relieving Furnace for their new facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and for SJM Controls Ltd to supply the furnace control system as we have done previously at their site in Dunfermline and also at Bergen, Norway.
We worked closely with the furnace manufacturer Excel Heat, based in the West Midlands who procured the Honeywell control instrumentation from SJM Controls Ltd after we had determined their technical requirements.

Upon completion of the furnace and control panel build, our service engineer attended the furnace manufacturer’s premises in the West Midlands to setup and configure the Honeywell control instrumentation prior to shipping to Saudi Arabia.

The control system included the following:

• Honeywell DC1200 Over-Temperature Controller
• Honeywell EzTrend Paperless Data Recorder
• Honeywell HC900 ControlEdge Controller, including Input / Output modules
• Honeywell CR900 HMI Touch Screen

We thereafter travelled out to Dammam, Saudi Arabia to perform the onsite commissioning and fault finding, site calibrations and finally the temperature uniformity survey (TUS) of the new stress furnace to fully comply with the requirements of API 6A.
